Membership

Any Indian citizen between the age of 18 and 60 years, residing in India with a valid proof of address, can apply for membership. The applicant must be in good health (as per self-declaration), willing to make regular contributions and agree to the group's membership rules and policies.

The contribution amount is determined by the membership plan you choose and is designed to be affordable for all income levels. Please contact our office or visit us to get the latest contribution details for your preferred membership plan.

No. Membership in Welgrow Self Help Group is strictly personal and non-transferable. Benefits are tied to the individual member and their registered nominee and cannot be transferred to any other person.

Yes, a member can cancel their membership by submitting a written cancellation request to our office. However, contributions already made are non-refundable as they are part of the community fund. Please refer to the membership agreement for complete cancellation terms.

You will need: Aadhaar Card (mandatory), PAN Card, 2 passport-size photographs, proof of address, active mobile number, bank account details, nominee's Aadhaar Card, and a filled application form. All documents must be self-attested. Visit our Membership page for the complete list.
Benefits & Claims

No. Welgrow Self Help Group is a community-based mutual assistance program and is NOT an insurance company. It is not regulated by IRDAI. Benefits are provided from contributions pooled by community members and are subject to fund availability, eligibility and group policies.

Yes, the registered nominee of a deceased eligible member may receive financial assistance from the community death benefit support fund. This is subject to: (1) the member having completed the minimum eligibility period, (2) all contributions being up to date, (3) claim verification by the committee, and (4) availability of community funds.

Financial assistance is provided by bank transfer directly to the registered nominee's bank account after verification of all required documents and approval by the group committee. The process typically takes 7–15 working days after all documents are submitted and verified.

Claims are verified through a structured process: (1) Nominee submits the claim with required documents including death certificate and member ID. (2) The committee reviews and verifies all documents. (3) Field verification may be conducted. (4) The committee approves or rejects the claim with reasons. (5) Approved amount is disbursed to the nominee's registered bank account.
General Questions

Contributions are collected monthly by bank transfer or in person at our office. All collections are maintained in a dedicated community fund bank account. The fund is managed by an elected committee and a full account of collections and disbursements is maintained. Members can request a fund statement at any time.

Missing a contribution may result in suspension of your membership benefits until the overdue amount is cleared. Repeated defaults may lead to cancellation of membership. Members are encouraged to inform the group in advance if they are facing difficulties in making timely payments.

Yes. Members can update their nominee details by submitting a written request to our office along with the new nominee's Aadhaar Card and a passport-size photo. Changes are processed within 7 working days of document submission.
